After years of preparing hard boiled eggs on stove top, I have found a method so superior that I’ll never switch back!

The method? Use a pressure cooker!

This is a really easy method to remember: It’s called 4-5-6:

  • 4 minutes on high pressure
  • 5 minutes of natural release of pressure
  • 6 minutes in an ice bath

Just add a cup of water to your pressure cooker, turn on high pressure for 4 minutes, and once the time is up set a timer for 5 minutes for natural release. At the end of 5 minutes, move all eggs to the prepared ice bath immediately for 6 minutes. Then simply peel, which will be extremely easy!!

This will come out right between medium and hard boiled with a nice velvety texture, perfect for any recipe like Deviled Eggs, Egg Salad, or just eating them with a little salt and pepper!
